Bill Gates’ Express Visit in Laguna Philippines?

Does genius-philanthropist Bill Gates have a secret project in the Philippines?

According to reports in InterAksyon and Rappler, the tech billionaire was sighted in Los Baños, Laguna earlier today.

Sources of both online portals say, Gates has been in the country since last Saturday, April 4 and has been staying in an island resort in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

This morning, he supposedly flew to Manila aboard another plane and then flew from Manila to Los Baños on a helicopter.

Other sources of the news portals say he specifically went to the University of the Philippines Los Baños campus to visit the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). He reportedly walked the area and facility to be updated on activities there.

They say he stayed in the area for at least two hours.

Sources at the local Immigration bureau also say his group did get into the country last Saturday and will leave the country by next week.

But some people at the IRRI won’t confirm his supposed visit.

Unlike in the early nineties, Gates is more active now with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation than the daily operation of his tech company.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation supports many anti-poverty and development programs all over the world, including research in some rice variety at the IRRI.

Gates last visited the Philippines in 1998.
